What's on offer?

Exhibit exploring workplace cultures of support and compassion.

What's it about?

When people have to take time off from work for serious illness, grief, or caregiving responsibilities, the intersection of financial pressures and personal crises can sometimes be devastating.

Drawing on research from the Horizon Europe EU-CoWork project at the University of Sheffield, this interactive art installation invites you to think about how organisations can foster compassionate workplace practices that support employee wellbeing in difficult times. Add your ideas and reflections to The Tree of Compassion by writing or drawing on the tree’s "Leaves of Pressure" – highlighting the real financial costs of personal crises – and "Roots of Support" – sharing how employers can better protect employees’ financial security.

Over the course of the exhibition you and other visitors will help build a collective vision for compassionate workplace cultures that safeguard workers when life gets tough.

Who's leading the event?

Dr Cristian Vasquez, Lecturer in Leadership and Sofia Topakas, Research Assistant
